"STEP UP FOR ACCRETA" IS A 10-DAY STEP CHALLENGE EVENT AND FUNDRAISER for NATIONAL ACCRETA FOUNDATION [https://www.preventaccreta.org/] during the month of October - ACCRETA AWARENESS MONTH! [https://www.preventaccreta.org/accreta-awareness] Can you make it to 72,000?
Track your steps with your smart watch, smartphone or pedometer. Sign in at the end of the week and log your steps!
The event focuses attention on placenta accreta spectrum, one of the fastest growing life-threatening complications of pregnancy.
During Accreta Awareness Month, National Accreta Foundation encourages patients, survivors, medical professionals and public health advocates to spread the word about increased rates and risk factors associated with placenta accreta, including cesarean overuse. Funds raised during the month of October will support National Accreta Foundation's programs and efforts in these areas.
PLACENTA ACCRETA CURRENTLY AFFECTS AS MANY AS 1 IN 272 BIRTHS, putting the mom at risk of severe blood loss, preterm birth, hysterectomy, and other complications. Every mom deserves risk-appropriate obstetric care. Making this a reality requires increasing awareness of accreta, supporting and advocating for moms and babies, and connecting patients and providers with resources to help improve quality of care.
