Event summary
Join us for the inspiring Step Up for America's Heroes Stair Challenge on Saturday, October 24, 2026, in Mt. Pleasant, Isabella! This uplifting event invites participants to tackle the monumental challenge of climbing 2,200 steps, a tribute to the courageous firefighters, law enforcement, military personnel, and civilians who risked their lives during the September 11th attacks. Held at the Community Memorial Stadium at Mt. Pleasant High School, this heartwarming event not only honors our heroes but also encourages participants to challenge themselves physically and mentally.
Whether you choose to conquer the full 2,200 stairs or simply climb at your own pace, every step you take helps commemorate the sacrifices made by those who served during the Global War on Terrorism. Not up for the stair climb? No problem! You can also stroll or jog around the football field track. Enjoy delicious doughnuts and beverages while connecting with fellow community members in this meaningful gathering. Best of all, participation is free, though donations to the Disabled American Veterans organization are encouraged, with a goal of $1,100. Come be a part of this memorable day and support our heroes!

Organiser's Description
Come support America's Heroes and test yourself with the Step Up for America's Heroes Stair Challenge! Climb 2,200 steps to complete the ultimate stair climb challenge. Why 2,200 stairs? Because that is how many stairs it was to the top of the World Trade Center when firefighters, law enforcement, military personnel, and civilians unselfishly and willingly climbed the stairs to save others during the September 11th terrorist attacks. Climb the stairs to honor, remember, and commemorate these brave heroes and their sacrifices, both, during the attack and after the attack when American military personnel were sent to fight in the Middle East during the Global War on Terrorism.
This event will be happening at Community Memorial Stadium at Mt. Pleasant High School. There will be doughnuts and beverages for participants. If you would rather not climb all 2,200 stairs but still want to participate, that is totally fine, climb as many as you are comfortable with. Not a stair climber? We also have the track around the football field you may walk or run around. This event is free but we do ask that you make a donation toward the Disabled American Veterans organization. Our goal is $1,100!
