Strength in Colors 5K & KIDS DASH

You are invited to join us for the 8TH ANNUAL STRENGTH IN COLORS 5K & KIDS DASH (SIC5K). Our inaugural SIC5K took place in 2018 and each year since then, participation and support has grown moving us closer to a world without cancer. The Crawford Crew exists to help those who have been affected by an HPV-related cancer and/or who would like to learn how to protect themselves, their children and grandchildren from six types of cancer. Join us and find out what the six cancers are, how they are preventable, and what colors represent each of them. Together we will:

* CELEBRATE survivors,
* REMEMBER and honor those we've lost,
* LEARN how to prevent HPV-related cancers,
* SHARE lived experiences,
* RAISE money to continue our programs and save lives, and
* HAVE a wonderful time.

THE KIDS DASH will provide kids 8 and under with a race tailored to their likes including fund prizes for all participants and yummy and healthy snacks post-race. There may be a few surprises for the kiddos too.

SURVIVOR SPOTLIGHT! Meet Linda Witter, [https://ohiostatebuckeyes.com/news/2023/9/25/synchronized-swimming-lichter-witter-named-usa-artistic-swimming-hall-of-fame-contributor] a 20 year cervical cancer survivor diagnosed in 2005. Hear Linda's story and how she persevered to take care of her family and achieve many goals.

Linda served as the head coach of The Ohio State synchronized swimming team from 1996-2012. During that time, she led the program to 11 U.S. Collegiate titles and 32 event titles. She coached 125 All-American student-athletes and was named Coach of the Year eight times in her 17 years at the helm. In 2004, she served as the assistant coach of the USA Olympic Team that earned two bronze medals at the summer Olympic Games in Athens. Linda was the head coach of the 2009 U.S. National Team that competed at the world championships in Rome and also served as the head coach of the 1996 U.S. National Team I squad.

FOR THE HEALTH OF IT! Health and Wellness experts will be onsite to provide HPV-related cancer prevention education materials and to answer your questions.

CANINE CORNER! Your furry canine family members are welcome, but must be on a leash at all times. Take them by our canine corner for a drink of water and a treat bag.
