Strides For Hope is a walkathon event to raise money for womens cancer research (breast cancer and gynecologic cancers). This day long event will take place on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Wasgatt Field in Rockland, Maine. This is a unique event that will have participants walking 1 mile every hour for 12 hours, doing laps around the track starting at 7 a.m.
The two beneficiaries for the event are Maine Cancer Foundations TRI For a Cure (triforacure.org) and the Foundation For Womens Cancer Move4Her campaigns (move4her.org).
Other events happening on this day are a vendor fair, local food trucks, a health fair, entertainment and a corn hole tournament.
The Strides for Hope Planning Committee is seeking volunteers to help plan this inaugural event as well as help the day of the event.
Sponsors are also needed for the event as well as vendors for the craft fair and health fairs.
