Get ready for an exciting day of fun and fitness at the 14th Annual Strut for the Strays on Saturday, July 20, 2024, in Battle Creek, Calhoun! This vibrant event offers participants the flexibility to join either virtually or in person, all while supporting the animals at the Humane Society of South Central Michigan. Whether you choose to walk or run a one-mile distance or tackle the 5K challenge (in-person only at the shelter), there's a place for everyone. The in-person festivities kick off at 8:30 AM, with race day registration starting at 7:00 AM, making it easy to get involved.
Not only is this a fantastic way to stay active, but it's also an opportunity to win fantastic prizes! Awards will be given to top finishers in various categories for the 5K, including medals for the top three participants in men's, women's, and kids' divisions. Plus, our furry friends can join the fun, with special canine awards and prizes for the fastest dogs in the race. 14TH ANNUAL STRUT FOR THE STRAYS! This years event participation can be completed virtually or in person to support the animals at the Humane Society of South Central Michigan. Virtually you can participate in a one mile walk or 5K walk or run. (ONLY THE 5K IS SUPPORTED IN PERSON AT THE SHELTER) IN PERSON EVENT AT THE SHELTER ON THE 20TH OF JULY BEGINS AT 8:30AM, DAY OF RACE REGISTRATION STARTS AT 7:00AM.
REGISTER 3 OR MORE PARTICIPANTS AT THE SAME TIME AND RECEIVE $2 OFF PER REGISTRANT! _(does not apply to canine registration)_
T-SHIRTS are provided for all paid participants registered by July 1st, 2024; participants registered after will receive shirts as supplies last.
PEOPLE AWARDS: There are prizes for the first place participant in three categories: men 17 and older, women 17 and older and kids 16 and younger for the 5K. We will also have medals for the top three finishers in these categories for the 5K.
CANINE AWARDS: This year we will again celebrate our canine participants. There will be medals for 1st-3rd on the canine participants in the 5k by time, and a gift basket for the first place dog in the 5K. Please sign your dog up separately for them to be eligible for prizes ($10 entry fee for dogs, includes race bandanna).
PACKET PICK UP AVAILABLE STARTING JULY 16TH- CAN BE MAILED FOR AN ADDITIONAL $12.50 POSTAGE COST. PLEASE CONTACT SHELTER TO SCHEDULE A TIME FOR PICKUP.
