Organiser's Description
Please join us on Labor Day morning to compete in a family friendly 5K race in memory of Stuart Bennett. Stuart passed away in a car accident in 2023. He was a kind young man, who would do anything to help a friend, teammate, or stranger. He continued his generosity and left a legacy of hope for others as he was an organ donor. Stuart grew up with a love for running, and he was highly successful in cross country and track while in school. From a young age, Stu starting running local road race 5ks. The Stuart Bennett Memorial 5k is a great way to honor the young man he was, while taking part in something he loved to do. The Stu Strong Foundation is a non-profit organization that works throughout the year to keep Stuarts memory alive, while honoring him. The Foundation raises money to provide scholarships to graduating seniors from the Clay Community School Corporation. It is also heavily involved in supporting local youth sports teams. Our race goal is to raise as much money as possible to give back to the Stu Strong Foundation and to have fun with friends and family while getting to run on Lavern Gibson Championship Course.
