Proceeds from the Sturgeon Shuffle will benefit local backpack programs aimed at combating hunger in our schools, including Project Backpack New London and other organizations throughout the region. Plus, this year, dogs on leashes are welcome to join in on the fun! Gather your friends and family for a day of health, community, and camaraderie, and don’t miss out on the chance to compete for awards in the "TEAM Competition." Join us for the Sturgeon Shuffle 2026! Presented by First State Bank, the Sturgeon Shuffle is a family-friendly 5K walk/run and a 10K competitive road run open to all levels of athletes. Named after the spring sturgeon run(spawning season), both events kick off from New London Middle School and are fully chip-timed (start and finish), taking participants on an out-and-back course on County Highway X along New Londons beautiful Wolf River.
Proceeds raised from the Shuffle will benefit backpack programs in our community and region including: Project Backpack New London [https://www.facebook.com/Project-Backpack-New-London-411114562316818/], Project Backpack Waupaca [https://thelakeswaupaca.com/project-backpack] (serving Waupaca, Manawa, Weyauwega-Fremont, Iola-Scandinavia, and Amherst school districts), and the Compassionate Connections Center [https://www.compassionateconnect.com/] Nutrition Mission in Clintonville. These organizations are working hard to stamp out hunger in our schools.
