Get ready to kick off your Thanksgiving celebration with the annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Run & Walk on Thursday, November 26th, 2026, at Shadyside Lake in Anderson, Madison! This festive event invites all “turkeys” to join in the fun, whether you prefer to run or walk. Registration opens at 7:15 AM for just $5, with all proceeds going to Outfitters, a fantastic organization that provides clothing to school-age children in need.
At 8 AM, participants will embark on their journey, with walkers completing a scenic 2.64-mile lap and runners tackling two laps for a total of approximately 5.28 miles. Don't forget to bring your own hydration and nutrition, as water and energy will not be provided on the course. Plus, there are special prizes for the top male and female runners and walkers, along with delicious pies and other treats for everyone! Join us in making a difference while enjoying a delightful Thanksgiving morning filled with community spirit and fitness!

Join us for our annual Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day at Shadyside Lake!
Registration is online or the day of only and starts at 7:15 AM. Registration is $5 (No shirt)
ALL Proceeds will go to Outfitters! Outfitters provides new and gently used clothing to school age children in need. Last year we provided over 1100 children in Madison County with a weeks worth of clothing absolutely free.

Walkers and runners start at the same time (8 AM)
Walkers complete 1 lap (approximately 2.64 miles).
Runners complete 2 laps (approximately 5.28 miles).
