Organiser's Description
8:00 am (7:15 am early start). Half marathon and 5K through and around beautiful Burkes Garden, VA continues to be one of the most elite races in Southwest Virginia. Beautiful countryside with rolling hills. Race Director Charity Hurst founded the race in 1992. The event brings runners from far away for the beautiful course, and of course, the sheep! All proceeds and donations benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Time Limit Note that there is a 3-hour time limit as requested by Burkes Garden. If you plan to take longer than 3 hours you are still welcome to participate and finish the race, but once the 3-hour time limit has passed, you may be on your own as far as traffic control, and you may be required to use sidewalks. We will continue to keep the timing system in operation until the last runner crosses the finish line. If you think it will take much longer than 3 hours to complete the race, you are encouraged to start early (see Early Start custom question). -
