The main event will be held on June 13 at 9 AM at Ledyard High School, featuring a scenic 5K race on the Conor S. Irwin Memorial Cross Country Course.
Participants can choose between a live event or a flexible virtual option, where you can complete the 5K in your own creative way—be it running, walking, biking, or even swimming! The virtual race is open until June 14, 2026, allowing for a personalized experience that fits your schedule. Additionally, there will be a special kids’ race for ages 1-11, complete with ribbons for the top finishers in each age group. All participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt if registered by June 1, 2026. This event not only honors Conor's legacy but also supports the Conor Irwin Memorial Fund, providing scholarships to deserving students.

Organiser's Description
The Conor Irwin Memorial Classic Race honors Conor Irwin, an intelligent, funny, kind, and amazingly fast young man who passed away tragically on December 5, 2016 at the age of 14, well before his time, in a skateboarding accident. All proceeds from the race go directly to the Conor Irwin Memorial Fund which provides scholarships to deserving students.
The 2026 Conor Irwin Memorial Classic will again offer both a live and a virtual option. The live event is at the Ledyard High School on June 13, 2026 at 9 AM. The race takes place on the Conor S. Irwin Memorial Cross Country Course. Awards will be given to the Top 3 Men and Women and to the Top 3 Finishers in their age groups for both Men and Women. For the virtual event, participants can complete the 5K in any way they would like - running, walking, hiking, biking, swimming, rowing, kayaking, paddleboarding, rollerblading, canoeing, ice skating, even a treadmill or a stationary bike. Conor would love the creativity! The virtual event will be open from registration until June 14, 2025 and can be completed anywhere, at any time, day or night. We have added a new addition to our race, the kids race. We will have different age groups for all kids participating from 1-11 years of age with ribbons for the Top 3 Finishers in their age groups for both boys and girls.
T-shirts will be provided to all participants (either live or virtual) who would like to receive one. If you desire a T-shirt, you must register by June 1, 2026. If you do not want a T-Shirt, please select "No Shirt" under the size drop down. We love to see people wearing their "Conor Shirts."

Live 5K will be run on the Ledyard High School Conor S. Irwin Memorial Cross Country Course. All participants will meet on the Ledyard High School outdoor track for the race start at 9 AM on June 13th, 2026.
