Join us for the John Theissen Children's Foundation Freaky 5K & Kids Trick or Treat 1/4 Mile Trot on Sunday, October 25, 2026, in the beautiful setting of Wantagh, Nassau! This family-friendly event kicks off with the Kids Fun Run at 8:00 AM, followed by the exhilarating 5K Run/Walk at 8:30 AM. The course, known for being "Flat and Fast," starts and finishes at the Town of Hempstead parking lot located at 1869 Wantagh Ave.
Participants can register for the 5K for just $25 if pre-registered by October 21, or $30 on race day. For our younger runners, the 1/4 Mile Trick or Trot is only $10 for children under 10. With exciting awards, including cash prizes for overall winners and medals for age group finishers, there’s plenty to compete for! Plus, don’t forget to dress up in your favorite Halloween costume for a chance to win special costume awards. AGE GROUP: Quality, large medals to the top five finishers in each of the following: 10 & under 11-13,14-16,17-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 plus!
COSTUME AWARDS!
Dress up in your Halloween costume to win prizes awarded in three categories: adults 18 and older, children 9 and under & 10-17 years old.
