On Saturday, March 1, participants can lace up their running shoes for the main races starting at 8:30 AM.
Runners will enjoy a scenic out-and-back course, with the 10K covering 3.1 miles, while the 12 and 20-mile races will turn around after 6 miles. The 20-mile participants will complete an additional 4-mile loop before heading back to the finish line. With chip timing in place, runners can focus on achieving their personal bests! After the race, celebrate your accomplishments at the after-party at Tap It Local, just a short drive away. RACE COURSES:
BEGIN AND FINISH AT THE ENTRANCE TO THE DISMAL SWAMP CANAL TRAIL, REST STOP AT MILE POST 4, CHESAPEAKE, VA 23323 AND WILL BE AN OUT & BACK. THE 10K WILL GO OUT AND BACK 3.1 MILES. THE 12 AND 20 MILERS WILL RUN/WALK 6 MILES AND TURN AROUND. 20 MILERS WILL COME ACROSS THE TIMING MATS AT THE FINISH LINE AND GO OUT FOR 4 MILES AND TURNAROUND AND HEAD BACK TO THE FINISH LINE. THIS IS A CHIPPED TIME RACE STARTING AT 8:30 A.M. FINISH LINE CLOSURE IS BASED ON A 15 MINUTE PER MILE AND WILL CLOSE AT 1:30. INCLEMENT WEATHER: THE RACE DIRECTOR AND THE TIDEWATER STRIDERS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CANCEL OR RESCHEDULE OR ADJUST DISTANCES AS NEEDED IN THE INTEREST OF SAFETY OR ACCESS RESTRICTIONS TO THE VENUE.
