Get ready for an exhilarating adventure at the Tofte Trek Wilderness Race on Saturday, July 4th, 2026, in scenic Tofte, Cook! This exciting event features a challenging 10K Wilderness Run that begins at the Birch Grove Community Center. Runners will enjoy a thrilling course that ascends towards the Superior Hiking Trail before descending through muddy snowmobile trails, making for a truly memorable experience. Participants can proudly sport their muddy badges of courage as they cross the finish line.
The day kicks off at 9:00 a.m. with a 10K Wilderness Walk, followed by a fun kids' sprint race for ages 4-12 and a one-mile race, both free of charge. The main 10K Wilderness Run starts at 9:30 a.m., with pre-registration available for just $40 and same-day online registration at $45. Don’t miss out on the chance to receive a special Tofte Trek T-shirt, available to the first 200 registrants for the 10K walk/run. Organiser's Description
The 10K Tofte Trek starts at Birch Grove Community Center in Tofte and winds its way up the hill towards the Superior Hiking Trail, then comes back down through lots of mud on the snowmobile trail. Runners are proud to wear their muddy badge of courage as they finish. Must be at least 11 years old to run the Tofte Trek. Overall and age-group awards. Dogs are NOT allowed on the race course or in the Birch Grove Community Center.
9:00 a.m. 10k Wilderness Walk ($40 pre-registration, $45 same day online registration only)
9:05 a.m. kids (4-12) sprint race (Free)
9:20 a.m. one-mile race (Free)
9:30 a.m. 10k Wilderness Run ($40 pre-registration, $45 same day online registration only)
*Racers can pick up their race packets on race day in the morning, from 7:30am-8:50am.
*Tofte Trek T-shirts provided to the first 200 registrants for the 10k walk/run.
