Join us for the exciting Tom Schreiber Memorial 5K and 1 Mile on Saturday, July 18, 2026, in Parma, Cuyahoga! This vibrant event honors the legacy of Tom Schreiber, a dedicated track and cross-country coach who positively influenced countless athletes over his 20-year career. Participants of all skill levels are invited to lace up their running shoes and either sprint the 5K or enjoy a leisurely 1-mile walk. Each race is chip-timed, with the 5K featuring split points at every mile and live participant tracking through the Last Mile mobile app.
Starting at James Day Park (Nike Park), the fun kicks off with packet pickup from 7:00 AM to 8:15 AM, followed by the 1-mile race at 8:00 AM and the 5K at 8:30 AM. Runners will be treated to delicious ice cream at the finish line—Tom's favorite! All participants will receive a custom finisher medal, a t-shirt (while supplies last), and samples from CeraVe. Let’s come together to celebrate Tom's enduring impact while supporting a scholarship fund for senior track and cross-country runners in the Parma City School District.

Organiser's Description
The Tom Schreiber Memorial 5K and 1 Mile celebrates Tom's lasting impact on the lives he touched. Tom served as the track and cross-country coach for over twenty years, first at Alliance High School (Alliance, OH) and then at Valley Forge High School in Parma Heights, Ohio. The proceeds from this event will be used to create a scholarship in Tom's name and be awarded to a senior track or cross-country runner from the Parma City School District.
The 5K and 1-mile events will each be chip-timed. Runners and walkers of all levels are welcome to participate. You can register for both distances, and your times will be combined to determine rankings for the combo category. THE 5K COURSE WILL FEATURE SPLIT POINTS AT EVERY MILE AND LIVE PARTICIPANT TRACKING VIA THE LAST MILE MOBILE APP. THE 1-MILE COURSE FEATURES A SPLIT AT THE HALF-MILE MARK. All runners will be treated to ice cream at the finish line - Tom's absolute favorite food!

There is limited parking in the lot nearest the pool. Please enter James Day Park (Nike Site Park) via Bicentennial Drive and park by the baseball fields.
