This inspiring event honors the legacy of Tom Schreiber, a beloved track and cross-country coach who dedicated over two decades to nurturing young athletes. The proceeds from this memorable race will help establish a scholarship in Tom's name, benefiting a senior track or cross-country runner from the Parma City School District.
Runners and walkers of all skill levels are invited to participate in either the chip-timed 5K or the 1-mile event. Compete for rankings in the combo category by registering for both distances! The 5K course will feature split points at every mile and live participant tracking, ensuring an exciting race experience. Plus, all finishers will be rewarded with ice cream—Tom's favorite treat! We encourage middle and high school athletes to join us, and coaches can inquire about discounted pricing. The event will start and finish at James Day Park (Nike Park), making it a perfect day for community camaraderie and celebration. Organiser's Description
The Tom Schreiber Memorial 5K and 1 Mile celebrates Tom's lasting impact on the lives he touched. Tom served as the track and cross-country coach for over twenty years, first at Alliance High School (Alliance, OH) and then at Valley Forge High School in Parma Heights, Ohio. The proceeds from this event will be used to create a scholarship in Tom's name and be awarded to a senior track or cross-country runner from the Parma City School District.
The 5K and 1 mile events will each be chip-timed. Runners and walkers of all levels are welcome to participate. You can register for both distances and your times will be combined to determine rankings for the combo category.
