Join us for the Tom Schreiber Memorial 5K and 1 Mile on Saturday, July 18, 2026, in beautiful Parma, Cuyahoga! This uplifting event honors the legacy of Tom Schreiber, a beloved track and cross-country coach who dedicated over twenty years to inspiring young athletes. Runners and walkers of all skill levels are encouraged to participate in either the chip-timed 5K or the 1-mile race, with the unique opportunity to register for both distances and compete in the combo category.
The scenic 5K course will feature split points at every mile and live participant tracking through the Last Mile mobile app, ensuring you stay connected throughout your race. Meanwhile, the 1-mile course provides a split at the half-mile mark for added excitement. As a special treat, all participants will enjoy ice cream—Tom's favorite—at the finish line, along with a custom finisher medal and a t-shirt (while supplies last). Plus, you’ll receive sample products from CeraVe! Join us at James Day Park (Nike Park) and help create a lasting scholarship in Tom's name for a senior track or cross-country runner from the Parma City School District. Organiser's Description
The Tom Schreiber Memorial 5K and 1 Mile celebrates Tom's lasting impact on the lives he touched. Tom served as the track and cross-country coach for over twenty years, first at Alliance High School (Alliance, OH) and then at Valley Forge High School in Parma Heights, Ohio. The proceeds from this event will be used to create a scholarship in Tom's name and be awarded to a senior track or cross-country runner from the Parma City School District.
The 5K and 1-mile events will each be chip-timed. Runners and walkers of all levels are welcome to participate. You can register for both distances, and your times will be combined to determine rankings for the combo category.
