This vibrant event will feature a variety of mini races, including 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, and a 1-mile run, all organized by age groups to ensure fair competition.
Participants can look forward to a day filled with laughter and camaraderie, as there will be fun running games on the inner field while they await their turn to race. Every child will receive a medal for their participation, and the top three finishers in each race will be awarded ribbons. Hydration stations offering water, Gatorade, and refreshing popsicles will keep everyone energized throughout the event. With a registration fee of just $30, kids can sign up for as many races as they wish, making for an unforgettable day of athleticism and teamwork! OUR SPRING 2026 KIDS RACE is brought to you by TRIANGLE RUN SMART TRAINING, PRESENTED BY PACE YOURSELF RUN COMPANY AND THE RUNNING PTS.
Come join us for OUR KIDS TRACK RACE ON SUNDAY, MAY 17, 2026 FROM 2-4PM AT THE MILLS PARK MIDDLE SCHOOL TRACK & FIELD IN CARY! We will have lots of mini races of varying distances on the track during the event, plus fun running games on the inner field for those waiting their turn to race. Races to include: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, and 1-mile races (broken into age groups). Medals for all participants and ribbons for the top 3 winners of each individual race heat. Open to ages 6-15.
Water, Gatorade, and popsicles will be provided to the kids during/after the event.
COST OF THE RACE IS $30. No refund and no credit if you drop from the race after registering.
COST INCLUDES: participation in as many mini race events as you'd like to register your child for, a race bib to wear during the event, participation in running games, hydration and popsicles, and medals.
RACE IS CAPPED AT 60 PARTICIPANTS.
TRS COACHES WILL COORDINATE/COACH THIS EVENT. After signing your child in, we ask that parents go to the stands during the event.

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
* 1:45-2:00pm - sign-in and get bibs
* 2-2:15pm - group warmups
* 2:20pm - 100m race
* 2:45pm - 200m race
* 3:00pm - 400m race
* 3:15pm - 800m race
* 3:30pm - 1 mile race
* 3:50pm - Awards, medals & popsicles, plus sign-out
