Participants can choose between a 10k or 5k race, both starting and finishing at Anclote Gulf Park. The course will lead runners through the Coastal Anclote Trail, Key Vista Nature Park, and scenic boardwalks with stunning views of the Gulf. With 70% paved trails and boardwalks, and 30% hiking trails, this race is perfect for both seasoned runners and casual walkers. Organiser's Description
The Turtle Trot 10k & 5k course begins and ends in Anclote Gulf Park and will take participants down the Coastal Anclote Trail, through the trails in Key Vista Nature Park, and over boardwalks that offer a view of the Gulf. It has 70% paved trails and boardwalks and 30% hiking trails. Participants may run or walk any distance.
Packet Pickup is on Saturday morning from 6:45 am to 7:45 am. A pre-race meeting for both events will begin at 7:50 am.
Proceeds of this event will go to the Pasco County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Adaptive and Inclusive Programming (PAIR). The PAIR program's mission is to enrich the lives of our diverse community by offering inclusive and adaptive programming within our county parks and recreation system ensuring individuals of all abilities have access to recreational opportunities, fostering a sense of belonging, empowerment, and well-being for everyone.
The 4th Annual Turtle Trot is in loving memory of Angela Fagan, Program Manager - Community and Outreach at Pasco County Parks Recreation and Natural Resources Department, whose life was cut short due to complications of the COVID-19 virus.
