Join us for an inspiring day of camaraderie and remembrance at the fifth annual Veterans Day 5 on Saturday, November 9, 2024, in Grand Rapids, Kent. This exciting event, starting and finishing at the Michigan Veteran Homes, features a timed 5-mile run and a 5K run, alongside a no-cost, untimed .5-mile Remembrance Walk. Whether you're a seasoned runner or looking to support our veterans, this event offers something for everyone while benefiting the Michigan Veteran Homes.
Kick off your day with check-in starting at 7:15 AM, followed by the races starting at 8 AM. After the runs, participants and volunteers can enjoy a complimentary SpartanNash Community Pancake Breakfast from 8:30 to 11:30 AM. This event is a wonderful opportunity to honor our veterans and engage with the local community, all while helping to raise funds for quality of life activities for veterans in Grand Rapids. Celebrate Veterans Day 2024 with the fifth annual Veterans Day 5, starting and finishing at the Michigan Veteran Homes at Grand Rapids on Saturday, November 9! Offering timed 5 mile and 5K runs, along with a no charge, untimed .5 mile Remembrance Walk, the Veterans Day 5 will benefit the Michigan Veteran Homes at Grand Rapids [https://www.michigan.gov/mvh]. Commemorate Veterans Day by participating in or volunteering for [https://www.signupgenius.com/go/805054AAEA628A13-51632364-2024] the Veterans Day 5, and get to know some of Grand Rapids' very own veterans!
The SpartanNash [https://www.spartannash.com/] Community Pancake Breakfast will take place in the Michigan Veteran Homes at Grand Rapids' Bistro and be available from 8:30a-11:30a, complimentary for all registered 5 mile and 5k participants, and volunteers; $5 donation for all others.
Special thanks to Zero Day [https://www.zero-day.us/] for acting as the fiduciary for the Veterans Day 5. They will donate 100% of the event proceeds and donations to the Michigan Veteran Homes at Grand Rapids following the event. And special thanks to myTeam Triumph -- Michigan Chapter [https://www.mttwestmichigan.org/]for coordinating Angels to push some of the Home's residents as Captains in the 5k run on event day. Event check-in will take place beginning at 7:15 am on Saturday, November 9 at the Michigan Veteran Homes at Grand Rapids (2950 Monroe Avenue NE). Please enter off Monroe Avenue to find parking behind the Home. The parking lots in front of the Home will remain clear of traffic for the start/finish which will take place in front of 2950 Monroe Avenue NE (the new Veterans Home). Once parked, you'll walk north on the driveway to enter the Home through the front door for check-in/registration in the Chapel and the post-event SpartanNash Community Pancake Breakfast in the Bistro.
COURSES
All events will start and finish in front of the Michigan Veterans Home of Grand Rapids. The courses will be marked with arrows displayed on yard signs and course copies will be available at event check-in/registration on Saturday, November 9.

Those who register after October 30 will not receive a shirt but will have the option for their entry to be discounted by $5. This is being done so as much money as possible can be raised through this event to support quality of life activities for our local veterans living at the Michigan Veteran Homes at Grand Rapids. Over $4,000 was raised through the 2023 event! Thank you, in advance, for your understanding!_
