This powerful event is dedicated to raising awareness and funds for combat-injured veterans, addressing the alarming crisis of veteran suicide that claims 22 lives each day. Participants can choose to challenge themselves with a 5K run or enjoy a leisurely 1-mile walk, all while making a meaningful impact in the lives of those who have served our country.
With early bird registration available until September 1st, participants can secure their spot for just $30 for adults and $20 for children under 12. All entries include a T-shirt, medal, and swag bag, with proceeds directly benefiting local veterans through holistic healing programs. The race day schedule includes registration from 7:00 a.m. to 7:45 a.m., followed by the event kickoff at 8:00 a.m. Don’t miss this opportunity to honor our heroes while enjoying a beautiful day outdoors. On Saturday, November 8th, 2025, at 8:00 a.m., we urge you and your family to stand with us at the Veterans Day 5K Run / 1 Mile Walka powerful event dedicated to honoring our heroes and confronting a crisis we can no longer ignore.
22 VETERANS DIE BY SUICIDE EVERY SINGLE DAY.
This heartbreaking and staggering number has become a cry for advocates across the nationcalling urgent attention to the epidemic of suicide among our veterans, especially U.S. combat-injured service members who fought in Iraq and Afghanistan.
These are not just statistics. They are lives lostparents, children, siblings, and friends who survived war zones but never found peace at home. Many return bearing the weight of visible and invisible wounds: loss of limbs, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).
Fairways for Freedom, in partnership with SSI VFW Post 4092, is taking action. All funds raised from this event will directly support local combat-injured veteransproviding them with innovative, holistic healing programs, including the therapeutic power of golf, to help them rebuild their lives and reintegrate into society with dignity and purpose.

Historically, this is a Beach Run Event (timed, not chipped); however, Glynn County has scheduled repairs and upgrades to East Beach facilities and beach. Depending on the progress will dictate if this Veterans Day Run/walk will be a Beach Run or Road Run. Once that is decided a map of the course will be provided. Looking forward to supporting our Heroes and their families.
