Join us for the exciting 1st Annual Veterans Day 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, November 10th, 2024, in Islandia, Suffolk! This vibrant event, hosted by VFW Post 12144, promises a day filled with camaraderie, fun, and community spirit. Whether you're a seasoned runner or looking to enjoy a leisurely walk, participants can choose to take on the 5K course or the Kids Fun Run at 8:30 AM for children aged 14 and under, while the main race kicks off at 9:00 AM.
Registration will be available on race day starting at 7:30 AM at the VFW Hall, so don’t worry if you missed the online sign-up! Enjoy age group awards and a delicious BBQ celebration after the race, making it a perfect way to honor our veterans while supporting a great cause. Proceeds from the event will directly benefit veterans and their families in our community who may be facing hardships. Lace up your shoes and come out to show your support for those who have served our country!
