Get ready for a fun-filled day at the inaugural Waffle Iron Youth Run on Saturday, July 19, 2025, in the picturesque city of Sandusky, Ohio! This exciting event takes place along the stunning Sandusky Bay waterfront, right in downtown Sandusky, and is set to kick off just before the renowned IRONMAN 70.3 event. Young runners will have the opportunity to participate in three age divisions: the Little Dough Ball Division for ages 0-3 with a short .06 mile race, the Rising & Shining Division for ages 4-7 covering a 1/2 mile distance, and the Ready to Run Division for ages 8-12, featuring a 1-mile run.
Each participant will receive a race shirt, a medal, and a delicious waffle from Sandusky's own Wake Up & Waffle, making this a delightful experience for everyone involved. Race Day Packet Pickup begins at 7:30 a.m. under the marquee in front of the Sandusky State Theatre, conveniently located next to the IRONMAN Finish Line. Three age divisions will toe the start line on the new Columbus Avenue for a run along the Sandusky Bay waterfront in downtown Sandusky.
0-3 Years- Little Dough Ball Division (.06 mile distance)
4-7 Years- Rising & Shining Division (1/2 mile distance)
8-12 Years- Ready to Run Division (1 mile distance)
