Get ready to lace up your running shoes for the 13th Annual 5K Turkey Trot hosted by Waterford High School on Saturday, November 22, 2025! This exciting community event will kick off at 9:30 a.m. at Great Neck School, located at 165 Great Neck Road in Waterford, Southeastern Connecticut. Participants can enjoy a fun-filled morning running or walking the 5K course, with the event timed by IRunCT.
Join in the festivities while supporting important school initiatives such as prom, scholarships, and trips, all while giving back to the community. Pre-registration is just $40, and all pre-registered runners will receive a complimentary t-shirt and have the chance to win awards for top finishers in each age group. Don’t forget to arrive early, as bib distribution starts at 8:45 a.m. on race day. As part of the event, we’re also collecting donations for the Gemma Moran Food Pantry, so please consider bringing shelf-stable food items. Mark your calendars and prepare for a day of fitness, fun, and community spirit!

The Waterford High School is hosting the 13th Annual 5K Turkey Trot Run/Walk on Saturday, November 22, 2025. The 5K race will begin at 9:30 a.m. at Great Neck School located at 165 Great Neck Road, Waterford. The race will be timed by IRunCT. Proceeds from this fun, community event will directly support whole school initiatives including prom, trips and scholarships.
Awards for top runners in each age group and a complimentary t-shirt will be given to all pre-registerd runners. The pre-registration cost is $40 and bib distribution will start at 8:45 am on race day. Pre-registration forms are being accepted now until November 21, 2025.
We will be collecting donations for the Gemma Moran Food Pantry on race day. Items needed include: shelf-stable microwable meals, oatmeal, ramen, mac and cheese, peanut butter, pasta and sauce, cereal, canned fruit and veggies, soup, rice, dry beans, and shelf-stable milk.
