This vibrant event, part of the popular Lawrence Ox Roast festivities, features USATF certified courses for participants to enjoy. Choose from 5K, 10K, or 15K distances, and compete for medals awarded to the top three finishers in each age group and gender. Trophies will also be presented to the overall winners in each race, making this a thrilling competition for runners of all abilities.
Race day kicks off with sign-in and bib pick-up starting at 7 AM at the Van Buren Conference Center. After crossing the finish line, participants can cool off with delicious fresh watermelon and enjoy a hearty pancake and sausage breakfast at the Lawrence Fire Department. While one breakfast ticket is included with registration, everyone is welcome to join the celebration, with additional tickets available by donation. The Watermelon Run is an event at the Lawrence Ox Roast, on Labor Day weekend. We offer 5, 10, and 15K road courses with medals awarded to the top 3 per age group, for both genders, in each event. Trophies are awarded to the finalists in each race for both genders.
Sign in and Bib pick up will start the morning of the race at 7AM at the Van Buren Conference Center.
