Join us for the inaugural Weehawken 5K Walk/Run for Food Justice on Saturday, November 15, 2025, in the picturesque setting of Weehawken, Hudson. This exciting event will take place along the scenic waterfront path and features a 5K walk/run alongside a fun-filled one-mile run designed for kids of all ages. The Weehawken 5K aims to raise awareness and funds to combat food insecurity in our communities, with 100% of the proceeds supporting PERC shelter in Union City, NJ, and educational initiatives focusing on food justice.
Race day kicks off early with registration at 6:30 a.m., followed by an energizing atmosphere filled with stretching and hydration. The 5K run starts at 8:30 a.m., followed by the 5K walk at 9:30 a.m., and the fun run for kids at 10:00 a.m. Celebrate your achievements with awards, food demonstrations, music, and more starting at 10:30 a.m. Remember, no strollers or pets are allowed, and in case of inclement weather, the race will be rescheduled to November 16, 2025. Organiser's Description
This inaugural WEEHAWKEN 5K WALK/RUN FOR FOOD JUSTICE will take place on the scenic waterfront path in Weehawken, NJ. At Food Justice for All, our mission is to provide education and resources to combat food insecurity in our local communities. 100% of the funds raised from the race will go to support PERC shelter in Union City, NJ as well as community education around food insecurity. We believe that communities are stronger when they come together. On race day we will offer a one-mile fun run for kids of all ages, as well as a 5K walk/run. These programs will also include an educational component around plant-based meals and effective ways to feed large groups of people in a changing world. Join us for a day of community engagement and fun!
