This exciting second annual event will take place along the picturesque waterfront path in Weehawken, Hudson. Participants can choose from three race options: a fun one-mile run for kids at 8:30 AM, a competitive 5K run starting at 9:15 AM, and a leisurely 5K walk/run at 9:45 AM. This event not only promotes fitness but also supports a vital cause—100% of the funds raised will benefit PERC shelter in Union City, NJ, and community education around food insecurity.
Join us for a day filled with positivity and community spirit! Race day will kick off at 6:30 AM with registration and check-in, followed by warm-up activities and plenty of fun for all ages, including face painting and art activities focused on food justice. Enjoy delicious food demonstrations, music, and awards after the races as we celebrate together. Remember, no strollers or pets are allowed, and in case of rain, the event will move to November 15, 2026. Let's come together to make a difference

Organiser's Description
This second annual WEEHAWKEN 5K WALK/RUN FOR FOOD JUSTICE will take place on the scenic waterfront path in Weehawken, NJ. At Food Justice for All, our mission is to provide education and resources to combat food insecurity in our local communities. 100% of the funds raised from the race will go to support PERC shelter in Union City, NJ as well as community education around food insecurity. We believe that communities are stronger when they come together. On race day we will offer three options: a one-mile fun run for kids of all ages at 8:30 am, a a 5K competitive run (under 30 min) at 9:15 am, and a leisurely 5K walk/run at 9:45 am. These programs will also include an educational component around plant-based meals and effective ways to feed large groups of people in a changing world. Join us for a day of community engagement and fun!

NOTE: RAIN DATE IS NOVEMBER 15, 2026. We will alert you by 12:00 AM ON NOVEMBER 14TH if the race is being moved to Sunday because of inclement weather

8:45 a.m. Get ready for the 5K competitive run! Stretch and hydrate as you cheer your favorite fun runners across the finish line!
9:00 a.m. Staging for the 5K run at the Weehawken track (for those who can run in 30 min or less)
9:15 a.m. It's GO TIME for the fast runners!
9:45 a.m. -- Staging and GO TIME for the remaining runners and all walkers!
10:00 A.M. ONWARD YOU DID IT! TIME FOR AWARDS, FOOD DEMONSTRATIONS, PRIZES, MUSIC AND MORE!
