Join us for the inspiring Wings of Hope - Cathy Nielsen Walk & Talk on Saturday, September 27, 2025, in beautiful Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie! This uplifting event celebrates community and connection while honoring Cathy Nielsen, a cherished supporter of Wings of Hope. Choose your adventure with a scenic 1-mile or 3-mile walk, perfect for families, friends, and even pets! Not only will you enjoy a morning filled with yard games, delicious coffee and donuts from J's, and music by DeafAudio DJs, but you'll also be supporting vital Care Partner programming for those navigating the cancer journey together. Registration runs from 9:00 to 9:30 AM, so be sure to register by September 18, 2025, to secure your event t-shirt in your size. Don’t miss this chance to make a difference in our community while creating lasting memories!
Organiser's Description
This year, were honored to introduce the Cathy Nielsen Walk & Talk, carrying forward the tradition of our former Wig Walk under a new name that holds deep meaning. Cathy, the beloved sister of our founder, was a fierce supporter of Wings of Hope and our mission. Though she passed away after her own battle with cancer, her spirit of walking, connection, and community lives on through this event.
Funds raised from the Walk & Talk will support our Care Partner programming, recognizing and uplifting the care partners who walk alongside their loved ones every step of the way. Because at Wings of Hope, we know healing is never a journey taken alone.
Choose from 1-mile or 3-mile routes. It's the perfect way to spend a morning with family and friends while helping those on the cancer journey in our communities. Pets welcome! Registration is from 9:00 to 9:30am, followed by the walks.
