Get ready for the Wolverine Winter Challenge, an exhilarating event taking place from February 1st to February 28th, 2026, in the stunning Ironwood, Gogebic area! This unique winter experience invites participants to explore the beautiful Wolverine trails by snowshoeing, skiing, or biking. Choose from up to six snowshoe trails, tackle a 10K ski, or enjoy a thrilling snowbike trail. While this is not a race, you can complete the trails at your own pace and enter to win exciting door prizes!
A highlight of the Wolverine Winter Challenge is the Yooperbeiner, a festive 5K snowshoe race/walk on groomed ski trails that is included with your registration. The first three men and women to cross the finish line will earn coveted Yooperbeiner medals. After your adventure, join us at the chalet for delicious food and fun giveaways from Aspirus. Embrace the winter wonderland and challenge yourself while enjoying the great outdoors!

Organiser's Description
For the Wolverine Snowshoe Challenge, participants choose to snowshoe up to 6 trails at Wolverine, 10 k ski and/or one snowbike trail. This is not a race. There will be no timing. Snowshoe, ski or bike an entire trail, report the trails completed and your name will be put into a drawing for a door prize. The entire trail loop must be completed in a single day but you may complete different trails on different days. The 10 K ski may be done in parts and reported after all 10K have been completed.
The Yooperbeiner is now part of the Wolverine Winter Challenge! The Yooperbeiner is a 5K snowshoe race/walk on the groomed ski trails and is included in your Winter Challenge registration. First 3 Men and Women to cross the finish line will receive Yooperbeiner medals. Food and giveaways from Aspirus will be available in the chalet post race.
