Event summary
Join us for the inaugural Young Hearts 4 Heroes event on Saturday, November 1st, 2025, at the Alexandria Shooting Park in Douglas! This uplifting community gathering aims to honor our veterans and foster a deeper understanding of the sacrifices made by our soldiers and their families. Participants can choose to march one mile in a soldier's boots or challenge themselves with a 5K run, making this event suitable for all ages and fitness levels.
Starting at 8:30 AM with registration, the day will kick off with a warm welcome at 9 AM, followed by the 5K race at 9:15 AM and the one-mile march at 10 AM. Medals will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in both the adult (18+) and youth (12-18) categories. Funds raised will support initiatives aimed at teaching tomorrow's leaders to honor today's veterans. Come together to celebrate freedom and make a meaningful impact in our community!

In an age where freedom is enjoyed, it is imperative that the next generation grow up learning about and understanding the _true cost_ of how it came to be and the importance of using it to live intentionally.
Sacred Journey Academy and the Veterans Memorial Honor Guard are joining forces to bring a new event to our community:
YOUNG HEARTS FOR HEROES
On November 1st, in preparation for Veterans Day, we will host an event at the Alexandria Shooting Park that will unite multiple generations. Young Hearts for Heroes is an effort to bridge the gap in understanding regarding the ongoing sacrifice of our soldiers and their families. Participants will have the opportunity to march one mile in a soldiers boots or run a 5K to honor our veterans. Funds raised will go to the support of programs for both organizations that are passionate about TEACHING TOMORROWS LEADERS TO HONOR TODAYS VETERANS.
