Families and friends gather early at Lake Baked for check-in at 8 a.m., with the run/walk kicking off at 9 a.m. Participants of all ages and abilities are invited to traverse the picturesque Wild Mile Nature Trail, making it a perfect way to kick off Independence Day before Bigfork's festive parade.
Not only is the Freedom 5K a fun and engaging event, but it also supports a noble cause. All proceeds go directly towards educational scholarships for the children of Montana's fallen military heroes, ensuring that every dollar counts. With competitive timing at the start and finish line, plus delicious cookies and medals awaiting participants at the finish, this event promises to be memorable for everyone involved. The annual Grateful Nation Montana's Freedom 5k Run/Walk on July 4th continues to be a tradition for many families and friends! The surviving children of our Fallen Montana Military Heroes who were killed in action in Iraq and Afghanistan Wars benefit from all Freedom Run proceeds. 100% of every $1.00 you give goes directly into the children's educational fund. All general and administrative costs at Grateful Nation Montana are covered by the board and most GNM Freedom Run/Walk expenses are covered by all the amazing and generous business sponsors!
The Run/Walk is open to all ages and abilities, and is a great opportunity to come together to remember and give thanks to all of our Military families before Bigfork's 4th of July parade. Families and friends gather at Lake Baked around 8 a.m. for check in and the start of the run/walk at 9 a.m. The Freedom 5k Run/Walk heads out along the beautiful and scenic Wild Mile Nature Trail. Competitive Timing is out at the start and finish line and is found right in front of Lake Baked. At the finish line everyone enjoys Cookies and medals! Please register early before June 1st to guarantee a shirt and your shirt size. Thank you so much!

The Grateful Nation Montana childrens fund provides financial scholarships to any post secondary school/University in the state of Montana for the children of our Montana fallen Iraq and Afghanistan Soldiers. GNM also partners with Folded Flag Foundation and Children of Fallen Patriots. FFF provides financial assistance in education for our Montana's Fallen surviving spouse and their children from k-12th grade. CFP provides financial scholarships when our Montana Fallen's children decide to pursue their education outside the state of Montana for post secondary school.
100% of All proceeds from the annual Grateful Nation Montana Freedom Run/Walk registrations will go directly to the Grateful Nation Montana childrens scholarship fund.
*GNM is a 501 c 3 organization.

Please come to Lake Baked @ 7:30 am for race checkin. The Freedom Run starts at 9 am. Competitive Timings Start and Finish Line is located at Lake Baked, Bigfork, Montana. PLEASE NOTE, the BIGFORK ONE LANE BRIDGE WILL BE CLOSED TO ALL TRAFFIC & PEDESTRIANS. NO PARKING DOWNTOWN for the parade
