Get ready to kick off your Thanksgiving festivities at the 15th Annual Whitefish Turkey Trot on Thursday, November 28th, 2024! This exciting event takes place in the charming town of Whitefish, Flathead, and offers participants a scenic 5K run or walk. The race will start and end outside the O'Shaughnessy Center, with a fresh new course that winds through the picturesque downtown area.

This year's Turkey Trot introduces two waves to accommodate all participants: the first wave for those aiming to finish in under 25 minutes will begin at 8:30 AM, while the second wave will start at 9:00 AM for those finishing in over 25 minutes. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or simply looking to enjoy a leisurely stroll with friends and family, this fun-filled event is perfect for everyone. Plus, don't forget to bring along food donations for the North Valley Food Bank – a wonderful way to give back while enjoying the holiday spirit! JOIN US FOR THE 15TH ANNUAL WHITEFISH TURKEY TROT!



Start off your Thanksgiving morning with a 5K run or walk around Whitefish, starting and ending outside of the O'Shaughnessy Center [https://maps.app.goo.gl/95qfAjSWprxJjdZc7].





START TIME: NEW FOR 2024: DUE TO THE EXPECTED NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS, WE INTEND TO HAVE TWO WAVES IN THIS YEAR'S TURKEY TROT: one for those expecting to finish in _under _ 25 minutes (STARTING AT 8:30AM), and one for those expecting to finish in _over_ 25 minutes (STARTING AT 9:00AM).





COURSE: NEW FOR 2024: THE WHITEFISH TURKEY TROT IS MOVING TO DOWNTOWN WHITEFISH! The new 3.1 mile course will start and end outside of the O'Shaughnessy Center [https://maps.app.goo.gl/95qfAjSWprxJjdZc7]. Participants will follow the bike path through the tunnel under Baker Ave all the way to Oregon Ave/Lakeside Blvd alongside Whitefish Lake. Trotters will then take Skyles Pl into residential Whitefish, turn right onto Iowa Ave, right onto Waverly Pl, left on Dakota Ave, and left on Edgewood Pl before jumping back on the bike path and taking it all the way back to the finish arch outside of the O'Shaughnessy Center.*



*This route is tentative and subject to small changes. The course will be marked and volunteer course marshals will help direct participants! DONATIONS: In addition to the proceeds from this event, we encourage you to bring FOOD DONATIONS to the food bank if you are able! In particular, the North Valley Food Bank [https://northvalleyfoodbank.org/] will be in need of: _TURKEYS, HAMS, FRESH POTATOES AND YAMS, CANNED YAMS, CANNED CORN, CRANBERRY SAUCE, PIE FILLING, DEHYDRATED POTATOES, STUFFING, GRAVY MIX, CORNBREAD MIX, CRESCENT ROLLS, BOXED PIE CRUST, BUTTER, OLIVE OIL, OATS, FLOUR, SUGAR, BROWN SUGAR, CINNAMON, NUTMEG, AND/OR SALT AND PEPPER._

NEW FOR 2024: The Whitefish Turkey Trot is moving to downtown Whitefish! Please be advised that weather conditions are variable, and there is a high likelihood of snow and/or ice on the course. While we will do our best to use sand or salt to provide a safe start and finish area, the rest of the course will be left up to Mother Nature. We highly recommend bringing Yaktrax or ice spikes for your running shoes!
