This unique virtual event invites participants to choose their distance—whether it's 1 mile, 5K, 10K, half marathon (13.1), or full marathon (26.2)—and complete their race at their own pace during this five-month period. Celebrating National Read Across America Day on March 2 and National Read A Book Day on September 6, this race encourages you to embark on your own adventure while promoting literacy.
Not only will you enjoy the thrill of the race, but you'll also be supporting a great cause, as at least 15% of each registration fee will go to DonorsChoose.org, helping classrooms in need across the nation. Participants of all ages are welcome, and every runner will receive a medal and bib, with shipments starting in mid-January 2025. This is for our 2025 race! Did you know that National Read Across America Day is March 2 and National Read A Book Day is observed annually on September 6th? Join our fifth annual Race to Read 1 Mile, 5K, 10K, 13.1 or 26.2 and go out, read a book and get running (or walking)! Complete your race anytime between March 2 and September 6th!
The great thing about books and about running (and walking) is that they both can take us on amazing adventures! We will also be donating at least 15% of each registration to DonorsChoose.org, an organization that makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need, moving us closer to a nation where students in every community have the tools and experiences they need for a great education.
