Starting at Sunflower Elementary School, participants will have the option to run or walk one to three loops around a scenic route that combines grassy trails and paved sidewalks, culminating at the finish line on the Southwest Middle School Track.
The morning kicks off with the Tot Trot at 9 AM, followed by the Dad Dash at 9:10 AM, leading up to the main Sunflower Fun Run/Walk starting at 9:30 AM. Each participant will receive a t-shirt as part of their entry fee, available for pickup on race day from 7:30 to 8:45 AM. Whether you're a seasoned runner or a casual walker, this community event is the perfect opportunity to connect with friends and family while promoting a healthy lifestyle. Organiser's Description
The purpose of this non-competitive race is to bring the Sunflower Elementary [https://www.usd497.org/sunflower] and Lawrence community together to support health, wellness, and connection. The race start will take place at Sunflower Elementary School in the beautiful Lawrence, KS, and consist of a loop circling [https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wEJH4X_kiZLBm--QczRlnaYbw36qtOuv/view?usp=drivesdk] the Sunflower and Southwest Middle School [https://www.usd497.org/southwest] property that is partially off-road on grass and partially on paved sidewalk. Participants can run/walk from one to three loops based on preference, and volunteers will be present to help with route directing. The finish line of the race is on the Southwest Middle School Track. A t-shirt is included in the entry fee, and t-shirts can be picked up at Sunflower the morning of the race from 7:30 to 8:45 am. Payment can also be made in person via check, cash, or PayPal the morning of the race with a t-shirt included while supplies last.__

OPENS SOONThis run/walk course is a one-mile loop around the Sunflower and Southwest school properties. As a participant, you can walk/run 1 loop, 2 loops, or 3 loops (each loop is a mile). The finish line will be on the Southwest Track. *The official Sunflower Fun Run/Walk will start following the Tot Trot. Please plan to come cheer on our little Eagles before participating! They'll love it! -

OPENS SOONWhat is a "Tot Trot," you ask?! It's a pre-race mini-run for kiddos ages 4 or 5 and under (i.e., not yet kindergarten age). These kiddos will have the opportunity to run one lap of the Southwest Middle School track at 9am before the start of the official Sunflower Fun Run. Race day t-shirts ARE INCLUDED in this entry. -
