Join us for a festive celebration at the inaugural Two Rivers Turkey Trot on Thursday, November 27, 2025, in Washington, District of Columbia! This exciting event features a 3K run and a family-friendly 1K Tater Trot, perfect for participants of all ages and abilities. Start your Thanksgiving morning with a refreshing outdoor experience as you jog, walk, or run through the stunning Anacostia Tidal Marsh and the beautiful back nine of the Langston Golf Course, a hidden gem in the heart of DC.
Check-in for the 3K begins at 8:15 AM, with the race kicking off at 9:00 AM, while the 1K Tater Trot check-in runs from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM, starting at 9:45 AM. Enjoy warm beverages and delicious pancakes at the clubhouse, which opens at 7:00 AM. This event is not only a great way to get active with friends and family but also supports the Two Rivers Public Charter School, helping to fill their food pantry and enhance educational resources. * Park either in the Langston Golf Course main lot and walk 0.3 miles to the driving range, or park at the driving range (unmarked entrance at approximately 2700 Benning Rd)
* 3K check in 8:15-8:45, race at 9am
* 1K check in 9-9:30, race at 9:45
* Caf'e in the clubhouse is open starting at 7am and has hot beverages and pancakes!
* Dress warmly and lets have fun!!

This Thanksgiving, connect with friends, family, classmates and neighbors to walk, jog or run through nature. Start your morning at a reasonable hour on the Anacostia Tidal Marsh as we kick-off the first Two Rivers Turkey Trot! The route will run through the back nine of the Langston Golf Course, a hidden gem and arguably the most beautiful area in DC.
Organized by a group of volunteers, proceeds support the Two Rivers Public Charter School as we work to fill our food pantry, appreciate teachers, build community, deepen student field studies and ensure our staff has what they need to make classroom magic.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
REGISTRATION FEES: This is a pilot year: we are testing race logistics and will not offer timing services or t-shirts. Therefore, registration is free. You can support this event and Two Rivers with a donation (suggested amount is $20 per adult, $10 per child). Race organizers are pooling donations through this website (no individual tax receipts available) OR you can donate to Two Rivers directly at: https://www.tworiverspcs.org/get-involved/support-two-rivers/donate/ (please enter Turkey Trot as a note). We welcome everyone regardless of ability to donate!
COURSE NOTES: The course surface includes grass, gravel, and pavement. Running strollers with big wheels are allowed. Other strollers and dogs are not permitted. Participants may park strollers and bicycles near the start.
RAIN POLICY: The event will occur rain or shine! In the event of lightening or extreme weather, organizers will cancel with no refunds or rain dates. Registered participants will be notified of cancellation by email.
WAIVERS: All participants must sign a waiver onsite, in addition to the RunSignUp waiver.

CLOSEDThis 1.86 mile course starts at the driving range and loops around the Anacostia Tidal Marsh, heading east over the Tidal Marsh then north along the tree line crossing back over the Tidal Marsh at the wooden bridge, returning south along the tree line on the west side of the river to finish by the driving range. All ages are welcome! -
