Event summary
This event not only honors the legacy of Dr. John A. Stephenson, a passionate advocate for children's health and wellness, but also promotes an active lifestyle among the youth. With scenic, gently rolling courses closed to traffic, participants can enjoy a safe and encouraging atmosphere. Plus, all finishers will receive a commemorative "FINISHER AWARD," and the top three boys and girls in the 1-mile distance will be recognized for their outstanding efforts. Join us for a day of celebration, fitness, and community spirit at this memorable event!
Organiser's Description
Race distances and courses are....3 & under 1/8th mile, 4-5 yrs old 1/4 mile, 6-7 yrs. old 1/2 mile, 8-13 yrs. old 1 mile. All events take place at Riverside Park, Rivermont Ave., Lynchburg, Virginia. Proceeds benefit the Lynchburg Road Runners Club a 501c3 non-profit whose mission remains to promote community health and wellness through the sport of running.
COURSES: Gently rolling courses (closed to traffic) winding through historic, Riverside Park (2270 Rivermont Avenue, Lynchburg, VA 24503).
AGE GROUPS (boys & girls): 3-under (1/8 mi); 4-5 (1/4 mi); 6-7 (1/2 mi); 8-9 (1 mi); 10-11 (1 mi); 12-13 (1 mi)
LYNCHBURG ROAD RUNNERS CLUB MEMBER DISCOUNT:
A $1.00 discount is available to current Lynchburg Road Runners Club members. Discounts will not be given after Monday September 30th. Participant membership must be current with the LRRC membership roster found on RunSignUp on race day. Discount will be given at checkout automatically. Refunds and discounts will not be given after completing online race registration.
T-SHIRTS: T-shirts are available for an optional fee within the registration process.
AWARDS:
All Finishers receive a commemorative "FINISHER AWARD"
Top 3 overall boys and girls for the 1 mile distance (all races combined) and the top 3 boys and girls in race.
PARKING: Riverside Park, closed to ALL vehicular traffic (9AM to 10:45AM). Please park on Rivermont Ave.
PACKET PICK UP: Fri. Oct. 10th at Riverside Runners from 12PM-6PM and race day 8-8:45AM, Riverside Park.
ENTRY LIMIT: 50 participants per gender per age group.
