Join the excitement at the 35th Annual YMCA Run Thru the Woods on Thursday, November 28, 2024, in The Woodlands, Montgomery! This cherished Thanksgiving morning tradition unites the community while supporting local non-profits dedicated to enhancing the lives of residents in The Woodlands, Spring, and Oak Ridge. Over the past 35 years, this event has raised more than $3.5 million for meaningful causes, and this year promises to be bigger and better than ever!
Participants of all ages can choose from a variety of race distances, including a 1-Mile Kids Race, a 3-Mile Run and Walk, and a 5-Mile Race, ensuring that everyone in the family can join in on the fun. Each registered participant will receive a custom finisher medal, an event shirt, and the chance for awards in various age categories. With chip-timing, post-race snacks, photo opportunities, and an atmosphere filled with festive spirit—complete with turkey costumes and themed outfits—this event is not to be missed! A local Thanksgiving morning tradition, YMCA Run Thru the Woods has supported local non-profits with the goal of strengthening The Woodlands, Spring and Oak Ridge communities for 35 years. The event brings thousands of community members together for entertainment and run/walks designed for all ages. Over the years, more than $3.5 million dollars has been raised.

The Woodlands Family YMCA Annual Campaign The YMCA Annual Campaign helps everyone, regardless of age, income or background, have the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive at the Y. Programs include life-saving swim lessons, after school care, support services/outreach programs, summer day camp and youth sports.

All events proceed rain, shine or cold. For that reason, we have a strict no-refund policy. If you are unable to participate in the event, you can still receive your packet, shirt and you simply run the race on your own time on your own course.

Thank you for your support. Parents: If you are currently registered as a Walker or as a Runner in the 3 Mile or 5 MIle, you do not need to register again to run with your child. The 1 mile race is first so you can join your child and also participate in any of the other events! Strollers are welcomed. Service Dogs are welcomed. Pets are NOT Allowed.
