Taking place at the picturesque MyakkaHatchie Creek Environmental Park, the race kicks off at 8:00 AM, just a short drive off Interstate 75 at Exit 182.
Whether you're a seasoned runner or just looking to have a good time, everyone is welcome to participate—just remember, participants who wish to play poker must be 21 or older. As you race, you'll collect two playing cards mid-course to complete your poker hand. Compete for fantastic prizes, including a $100 gift card and medal for the best poker hand, and a $75 gift card for the worst hand. Additionally, there will be awards for top male and female finishers across various age groups immediately following the race. Make sure to register by September 26th to guarantee your Poker Run shirt and be part of this exhilarating community event!

THIS IS A TEXAS HOLDEM' STYLE 5K EVENT.
EARLY PACKET PICKUP IS OCTOBER 2ND FROM 3:00PM-6:00PM AT IL PRIMOS. RACEDAY PACKET PICKUP WILL BEGIN AT 7:00AM ON THE MORNING OF THE RACE AT THE MYAKKAHATCHEE CREEK ENVIRONMENTAL PARK.
PARTICIPANTS PLAYING POKER WILL GATHER TWO PLAYING CARDS FROM THE TABLE MID-RACE TO COMPLETE THEIR HAND. UPON RETURNING, RUNNERS WILL PLACE THEIR CARDS ON THE CHECK-IN TABLE. THE CARDS WILL BE STAPLED TOGETHER WITH THE RUNNERS NAME WRITTEN ON THEM.
PARTICIPANTS DO NOT NEED TO KNOW HOW TO PLAY POKER TO PARTICIPATE. THEY JUST NEED TO PICK UP 2 CARDS DURING THE RUN.
THE HIGHEST POKER HAND WILL RECEIVE A $100 GIFT CARD PLUS A MEDAL
THE WORST POKER HAND WILL RECEIVE A $75 GIFT CARD. PLUS A MEDAL
IN THE EVENT OF A POKER HAND TIE, THE FASTEST RUNNER WINS THE HAND.

* Parking is available within the park by following the dirt towards the big pavilion and beyond. Please refrain from parking on the residential side of Reisterstown Road/Estates Drive.

* Take Exit 182 from I-75 and head East. Follow Sumter Blvd. to Tropicaire Blvd. Turn left on Tropicaire Blvd. and turn right on Reisterstown Road. The park is at the curve of Reisterstown Road on the right.

RULES: 3-5 Decks Straights over Flushes 5 Card Texas hold-em style Each runner will receive 2 picked up (or hole) cards that only they can see. Three community cards (known as the "flop") are dealt face-up on the table. The player's hole cards are revealed when they return from running and the player with the best five-card poker hand wins the pot. Straights over Flushes!! Your five-card hand can consist of none, one, two, or all three of the hole cards along with your two of the community cards. If two or more players share the same best hand, the Fastet runner wins the hand or the pot is divided equally among the winners. High Card: Cards are ranked deuce (2) as the lowest to ace as the highest. If two or more players have the same high card, then the second-highest card (and so on, to the fifth card if necessary) determines the winner. Pair: A pair (two cards of the same rank) beats high card. The highest pair is a pair of aces. If two or more players have the same pair, then the highest of the three remaining cards (known as kickers) determine the winner. Two Pair: Two pairs beats a pair. If two or more players have two pair, then the highest pair determines the winner. For example, a pair of aces and four beats a pair of kings and queens. If two or more players have the same two pair then the fifth card kicker determines the winner. Three of a Kind: Three of a kind (three cards of the same rank) beats two pair. Three aces is the best of these. If two or more players share the same three of a kind hand, the two remaining kickers determine the winner. Straight: A straight beats a flush. A straight is five consecutive card ranks. Aces can be high or low so the lowest straight is ace through five while the highest is ten through ace. There are no kickers with straights since all five cards are needed to make the hand. Flush: because it is easier to receive a flush, in this poker run the Straight beats the FLUSH, Full House: A full house beats a straight. A full house is the combination of three of a kind and a pair. If two or more players have a full house then the player with the best three of a kind wins. If those are the same then the player with the best pair wins. Four of a Kind: Four of a kind (four cards of the same rank) beats a full house. If two or more players share the same four of a kind, then the fifth card kicker determines the winner. Straight Flush: A straight flush (five consecutive cards all of the same suit) beats four of a kind. Aces can be high or low. An ace-high straight flush is called a royal flush, the best possible hand in poker.
