Join us for the 4th Annual Recovery Awareness Walk & 5K on Saturday, May 3, 2025, in the vibrant community of Shawano! This uplifting event not only promotes awareness of addiction and mental health recovery but also supports local resources aimed at helping individuals on their journey to wellness. Participants can enjoy a fun-filled day with a 5K Fun Run and a 1.25-mile Recovery Awareness Walk, both winding through the heart of downtown Shawano and culminating at Franklin Park.
The festivities kick off bright and early at 8:30 AM with registration and t-shirt pick-up, followed by a welcome ceremony featuring guest speakers and a moment of silence at 10:00 AM. The day will be packed with family-friendly activities, including face painting, henna tattoos, a bounce house, and live music, creating a celebratory atmosphere for everyone involved. Don't miss the opportunity to connect with local recovery resources at the Recovery Resource Fair running from 8:30 AM to 1 PM. Whether rain or shine, let’s come together as a community to support recovery efforts and enjoy a day filled with hope and resilience!

Organiser's Description
Now in its 4th year, our annual Recovery Awareness Walk will be continuing our 5k Walk/Fun Run options! This event is spearheaded by the Shawano Menominee Resiliency Coalition to help bring awareness and support to those living in and working towards RECOVERY from addiction and mental health struggles in our local communities!
In the first two years, the Recovery Celebration & Awareness Walk was able to help raise funds to open the Shawano Recovery Center and Shawano County's first Women's Recovery Residence!
This year, FUNDS RAISED AT OUR EVENT WILL CONTINUE TO EXPAND AND SUSTAIN RECOVERY RESOURCES IN OUR LOCAL AREA.

DETAILS OF RECOVERY CELEBRATION ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:

Please note that the event will take place Rain or Shine, so refunds will not be available due to inclement weather. (A rain location at Shawano Community High School has been coordinated and details will be sent out if being utilized! Rain Location Plans will be announced by the morning of Friday, May 3rd!)
