Join us for the exciting 5K Home Run supporting Family Promise of Lawrence, taking place from May 19 to May 26, 2025, in the vibrant community of Lawrence, Douglas County. This inclusive event welcomes seasoned runners, casual walkers, and families looking to enjoy a day out together. Whether you're pushing a stroller, walking your pet on a leash, or simply wanting to enjoy some fun activities, there’s something for everyone! Kids will love the bounce houses and various free activities available on-site.
Participants can take part in a fun virtual option, where you can track your mileage over the week to complete a total of 5K at your own pace. Everyone who joins will receive a stylish race T-shirt, and there are medals up for grabs for top finishers in various categories. Plus, teams of four or more can enjoy a $5 discount per participant, and the largest youth team will win delicious meals from Hawaiian Bros! All proceeds from the event support Family Promise of Lawrence, an agency dedicated to helping families facing housing crises. Join us for a week of fun, fitness, and community spirit while making a difference!

Organiser's Description
This race is perfect for seasoned racers, walkers and those who've never run or even walked 3.1 miles. Grab your strollers and favorite pets on a leash -- they're welcome, too! We'll also have bounce houses and other free kids' activities on site.
Virtual participants: You can even track your mileage over the week to total a 5K. (How many trips from the couch to the fridge would you need?)
All participants receive a race T-shirt. Medals will be awarded for the top in-person male and female overall and masters (40+) finishers, and the top 3 male and female finishers in these age groups: 10 & under, 11-15, 16-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61-70 and 70+. Virtual participants can submit their race photos to be recognized in a variety of creative categories.
Teams of four or more people can register to receive a $5 discount per person for either the in-person or virtual event. Teams can be a mix of in-person and virtual participants. The largest youth team (18 and under) will win free meals from Hawaiian Bros!
