Participants will tackle a distance of 3.1 miles, with options for both in-person and virtual participation. Enjoy bounce houses and a variety of free kids' activities on-site while you run or walk. Every participant will receive a stylish race t-shirt, and medals will be awarded to the top finishers in various age groups, including overall male and female winners. Organiser's Description
This race is perfect for seasoned racers, walkers and those who've never run or even walked 3.1 miles. Grab your strollers and favorite pets on a leash -- they're welcome, too! We'll also have bounce houses and other free kids' activities on site.
Virtual participants: You can even track your mileage over the week to total a 5K. (How many trips from the couch to the fridge would you need?)
All participants receive a race T-shirt. Medals will be awarded for the top in-person male and female overall and masters (40+) finishers, and the top 3 male and female finishers in these age groups: 10 & under, 11-15, 16-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61-70 and 70+. Virtual participants can submit their race photos to be recognized in a variety of creative categories.
Teams of four or more people can register to receive a $5 discount per person for either the in-person or virtual event. Teams can be a mix of in-person and virtual participants. The largest youth team (18 and under) will win free meals from Hawaiian Bros!
This run supports Family Promise of Lawrence, an agency that works with families who are experiencing a housing crisis in Douglas County and to help them find stabilization through community connections.
