This exciting event honors the legacy of Captain Ronald Lloyd "Ron" Zinn, a dedicated racewalker and Vietnam War hero, and features a range of activities suitable for all ages. Participants can lace up for the 5K Race and Race Walk, which kicks off at 10:00 AM and 10:02 AM respectively, or let the kids join in on the fun with a Kids Fun Run starting at 9:30 AM.

HE GRADUATED FROM THE US MILITARY ACADEMY IN 1962 AND REPRESENTED THE USA AT THE 1960 (ROME) AND 1964 (TOKYO) SUMMER OLYMPICS. HE PLACED 6TH IN THE 20K RACE WALK IN 1964. SHORE AC HAS HELD THIS RACE TO REMEMBER CAPTAIN ZINN SINCE 1966. THE DAY FEATURES A 5K RACEWALK & WALK AT 10:00 AM 5K RUN AT 10:05 AM, AND A KIDS FUN RUN AT 9:30 AM. VIRTUAL RACE
THOSE WHO ARE NOT ABLE TO JOIN US IN PERSON CAN SIGN UP FOR OUR VIRTUAL OPTION. THOSE WHO ARE REGISTERED BY MARCH 20 WILL BE MAILED A RACE SHIRT. This event will start just two minutes after the 5K, and results will be in their own division. This is for race walkers and traditional walkers and will be on the honor system (no running allowed if you would like to be eligible for awards in this division). -
Kids Fun Run - 1/2 Mile

Kids Fun Run will be a half mile (800 meter) course around the athletic fields and/or on an out and back course on the paved path. We encourage the age range to be grades K - 4. Parents may run with their children if they prefer to do so. -

The virtual race is a great option for those who want to support this race but cant physically be there. Run a flat 5K (3.11 miles) at home and report your time to us before midnight on race day, and youll be added to the results! *- To receive a shirt, you must register by March 20. *- Awards will be mailed to the top 3 male and top 3 female virtual race participants in the 5K.
