This uplifting community event features a scenic race course starting at the Delhi Fire Department, winding through local neighborhoods, and culminating at the 9-11 Memorial in Holt Plaza. Runners of all ages can participate, with distances suitable for everyone, and awards will be presented to the top finishers in various age categories.
The event kicks off with a poignant remembrance presentation at 6 PM, followed by the race starting at 6:30 PM. 12TH ANNUAL 9-11 HERO RUN
Come join us in honoring the victims of the 9/11/2001 attacks by helping raise money for first responders and military veterans. This is the 12th year of this successful fun family event, organized by the Delhi Twp. Fire Dept., Ingham County Sheriffs Office, and The American Legion Post 238 and supported by local businesses and YOU!
2024's beneficiary is split between the 100 CLUB OF LANSING [http://100clubofgreaterlansing.org] (assisting families of fallen police and fire heroes killed in the line of duty) and WILWIN LODGE AT CYGNET COVE [http://wilwinlodge.com] (retreat and recuperation for disabled combat veterans and their families). Consider donating and earn a FREE ENTRY - details below.
PRICING: $30 through September 1st (includes T-shirt), then $35 (T-shirt available as supplies last).
COURSE: Race starts thru the bays of Delhi Fire Dept., south on Aurelius, thru subdivision and finish in Holt Plaza at the 9-11 Memorial.
PACKET PICKUP INFORMATION: Tues 9/10 5pm-7pm Delhi Fire Dept (2074 Aurelius Rd). Wednesday 9/11 RACE DAY pickup 9am-4pm Delhi Fire Dept and 5pm-6:20pm Delhi Memorial Gardens.
Race day entry is $35 and additional shirts are $20 (as supplies last), both CASH ONLY.
RACE STARTS AT 6:30 PM. 6pm Remembrance Presentation by Fire Chief Brian Ball at the Delhi Fire Dept bay, 2074 Aurelius Rd.
PARTICIPANTS registering through Sept 1st are guaranteed a T-shirt, then supplies available until exhausted.
AWARDS: Award to overall and master winner. Gold, silver, and bronze medals to 3 fastest runners in age groups: 13 & under, 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+
The race will be professionally timed by the MICHIGAN RUNNING FOUNDATION [https://www.facebook.com/michiganrunningfoundation/]. Results will be posted live during the race and on this website.
