Organiser's Description
The half marathon will be on the Mahaska County Recreation Trail all around Oskaloosa with a little bit of the running on the streets. UPDATE: The race will begin by the new Lacey Complex Stadium. This will allow for more parking and better central location for the meet. We will follow the path down and around the city of Oskaloosa. The course is hilly, but full of a lot of beautiful scenery. The race will begin and end by the community stadium for your convenience.
The Mahaska County Sheriff's Reserves will be hosting our third Pot of Gold Shared Half Marathon and 5K. Proceeds go towards a scholarship for a male and female runner, and the rest of the funds will go to support other reserve funding projects for Mahaska County.
We will give medals to the top 3 individuals Male and Female in each age division in the half marathon and 5k. All finishers will receive a medal for the half marathon. Long sleeves will be handed out based on availability, so please make sure that we have you signed up because we will need to get shirt orders in by Mid-February!!!
Packet Pick-Up will be at the Emergency Management Agency Building 6-8 p.m. on March 28th. Also, you will be able to pick-up packets at 7:30 a.m. for half marathon and 8:00 for the 5k on March 29th if needed at the start line at Lacey Complex.
