Get ready for an exhilarating day of community spirit and friendly competition at the second annual Battle of the Badges Half Marathon, 5K, and 1 Mile Fun Run on Saturday, January 31, 2026! Taking place in the heart of Waco, McLennan, this exciting event promises fun for the whole family as participants rally behind the local heroes of the Waco Fire and Police Departments. The race kicks off bright and early at 8 AM from Waco Fire Station 1, where you'll have the chance to choose your team and help support these essential community services.
Whether you're up for the challenge of the half marathon, a brisk 5K, or a leisurely 1 mile fun run, there’s an option for every fitness level. All half marathon participants will receive a stylish long sleeve dri-fit shirt, while 5K runners will sport a comfy short sleeve cotton shirt. Although 1 mile participants won't receive a shirt, they can easily purchase one at checkout. Be sure to register by January 17, 2025, to guarantee your shirt, as they will be available on a first-come, first-served basis after that date. Join us for a day of camaraderie, fitness, and fun

Organiser's Description
Lace-up your running (or walking) shoes for the second annual Battle of the Badges Half Marathon & 5K, on Saturday, January 31st. This family-friendly event features a fun competition between the Waco Fire and Police Departments. Choose which team you will support when you register and let the battle begin! The race kicks off at 8am at Waco Fire Station 1. Race proceeds will be benefit both Waco Professional Firefighters - IAFF 478 & The Waco Police Association.
Half marathon participants will receive a long sleeve dri-fit shirt and 5K participants will receive a short sleeve cotton shirt. 1 mile participants will not receive a shirt, but have the option to purchase either shirt at checkout. Shirts guaranteed for participants who are registered by 1/17/25. After that, shirts will be first come first serve.
Packet pickup: Friday January 30th 4PM-6PM

All registrations are final and are non-refundable and non-transferable. Proceeds from registrations, whether used or not used, will go to support the Waco Police Association & Waco Professional Firefighters - IAFF 478.
