Join Council Member Shahana Hanif and the PTAs of Brooklyn's public schools for the exciting 16th annual PTA Fun Run for Schools on Saturday, October 26, 2024, in Prospect Park. This 5K+ run/walk/stroll/toddle/scoot event will kick off at 10 AM, with bib pickup and pre-race activities starting at 9:00 AM. Participants of all ages and abilities are welcome to join in the 3.3 mile loop around the park, starting and finishing just outside the LeFrak Center. This fun run is a fantastic opportunity to show support for our local public school communities and raise funds for our neediest schools. Register now with your school team and encourage friends and fellow community members to do the same. Council Member Shahana Hanif and the PTAs of Brooklyns public schools are coming together for the 16th annual PTA 5K+ run/walk/stroll/toddle/scoot in Prospect Park. The race will take place on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 10 AM. Bib pickup and pre-race activities will begin at 9:00 AM.
For over a decade now, the PTA Fun Run has demonstrated the tremendous strength of our local public school communities. Parents, students, and educators have turned out in droves to show what it means to build community and work together on critical issues facing our public schools. Net proceeds from your registration fee will go to our neediest schools.
The Fun Run will be a 3.3 mile loop, starting and finishing on the main park drive just outside the LeFrak Center. The run will start at 10 AM. Bib distribution and pre-race activities will begin inside the LeFrak Center starting at 9 AM. As a fun run, we welcome everyone-- young, old, experienced and not, runners, walkers, strollers, tricycles, scooters, wheelchairs-- all are invited to join!

The Fun Run will be held rain or shine, except in the case of hazardous conditions such as lightning. Registration pricing is as follows: Single adult: $25 + processing fee Other adults in a group or family: $15 ($10 discount) All children under 18: $5 *Parents please register yourself/adults first, then children. This pricing attempts to balance maximizing fundraising with affordability. However, price should not be a roadblock for any person wishing to participate. Please reach out to Mia Perez at [email protected] to discuss any situations that might limit community members at your school from participating.
