Participants will start at the northern end of the Burke Lake Park Ice Cream Parlor/Merry-Go-Round parking lot, where they will embark on a journey over mildly rolling terrain. Runners will enjoy a unique experience as they navigate a combination of paved pathways and charming dirt trails, all while surrounded by the beauty of nature.
The 12K race begins with a short stretch on the main roadway before transitioning to a dirt path that hugs the lakeside, offering lovely views and a refreshing atmosphere. Be sure to keep an eye out for tree roots and rocks along the way! Runners will turn around after approximately four miles, making their way back in a counterclockwise direction to the start/finish line. _DISTANCE AND COURSE:_ This is an out-and-back course almost completely around Burke Lake. The start/finish is at the northern end of the Burke Lake Park Ice Cream Parlor/Merry-Go-Round parking lot on main roadway ("Start" is painted on road surface). The race proceeds clockwise around lake over mildly rolling terrain. The first half mile is on the paved main roadway. After crossing the small bridge, bear right onto the dirt path, keeping the lake on your right. Continue on dirt path (watch for tree roots and protruding rocks!). Proceed for another three miles to turnaround and then proceed counterclockwise around lake back to the start/finish. The turnaround is past the earthen dam and is approximately 200 yards past the 4.0 mile marker (if you reach the public marina, you've gone too far!).

Once you are inside the park, make the first left and travel a quarter mile to the mini-golf / Disk Golf / Ice Cream Parlor / Merry Go Round parking lot on your right.
