THE SOCIAL WORK STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS, PHI ALPHA HONORS SOCIETY, AND TITLE IV-E PROGRAM AT CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY, FRESNO ARE HOSTING A CHILD ABUSE/FOSTER CARE AWARENESS 5K RUN/WALK, WHICH WILL NOT ONLY RAISE AWARENESS ABOUT CHILD ABUSE AND FOSTER CARE BUT ALSO INCORPORATE A WELLNESS COMPONENT FOR FAMILIES. THIS DUAL-PURPOSE EVENT AIMS TO BOTH ADVOCATE FOR CHILD SAFETY AND FOSTER CARE, RAISING AWARENESS OF THE NEED TO SUPPORT THE WELL-BEING OF FAMILIES, CAREGIVERS, AND FOSTER YOUTH. BY PROMOTING SELF-CARE AND PROVIDING RESOURCES FOR MENTAL AND PHYSICAL WELL-BEING, THIS EVENT SEEKS TO INCREASE FAMILY AND INDIVIDUAL WELL-BEING. PROCEEDS WILL SUPPORT NEXT YEAR'S EVENT TO MAKE THIS AN ANNUAL EVENT.
