Get ready for an exhilarating day of running at the Club South Runners Freedom Mile on Friday, July 4th, 2025, in Baton Rouge, East Baton Rouge! This exciting event features a series of one-mile races, culminating in a thrilling point-to-point finish at the historic Old State Capitol. With races for all ages, participants can look forward to the Masters and Grandmasters divisions starting at 8:00 AM, followed by Youth races and Open Divisions for both men and women.
Families can also join in the fun with the special Parent-Child 1/2 mile run, taking off at 9:20 AM. Enjoy seamless logistics with a shuttle bus service running from the finish back to the start for most events. Plus, there are fantastic awards up for grabs, including overall and age group honors for both male and female participants. Club South runners presents The Freedom Mile. This is a series of 1 mile races and includes a parent-child 1/2 mile fun run. It is a point to point event ending at the Old State Capitol.
* 7:00 am Onsite registration begins/ Packet Pickuup
* 8:00 am: Masters/Grandmasters Male/Female
* 8:20 am: Youth (14 & under) Male/Female
* 8:40 am: Open Division Women
* 9:00 am: Open Division Men
* 9:20 am: Parent/Child 1/2 mile fun run
We have a shuttle bus that runs from finish to start for each event, except the 1/2 mile fun run as that is an out and back course.
AWARDS:
* Overall Male/Female, Masters Male/Female, Grandmasters Male/Female
* 3 deep each age group Male/Female (under 15, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-559, 60-64, 65-69, 70+)
* Corticates 3 deep Male/Female for 8 and under, 9-10 years, 11-12 years, and 13-14 years
* Finisher certificate for each child in the 1/2 mile fun run
