In the lead-up to the race, students from PreK to 5th grade will engage in a thrilling reading challenge, earning a free t-shirt and bookmark upon completion. All proceeds from this event go directly toward enhancing literacy resources and integrating essential subjects like mathematics, science, and social studies at our K-5 campuses. Can't make it in person? No problem! A virtual 5K option is available, ensuring everyone can participate. Don't miss out on this rain or shine event, which will be moved indoors at Cougar Elementary School if necessary. Day-of registration for the 5K will take place from 7:15 AM to 7:45 AM. Come out and support our students while having a fantastic time!

The Cougar Literacy Run is a community 5k and kids' fun run (for Manassas Park students) to promote literacy and wellness for our students. The day of the event includes family friendly activities and a Community Expo. Prior to race day, students at our PreK-5 buildings take part in a reading challenge. Once achieved, students receive a free t-shirt and bookmark. Proceeds from the event go to purchasing print and digital resources and experiences to enhance literacy and integrate mathematics, science, and social studies learning at our K-5 campuses.

OPENS 15 FEBRegister online until April 29th or on race day, May 2nd. Race day check-in and day of registration will be from 7:00-7:45am. All pre-registered participants that attend race day will receive a race t-shirt. T-shirts will be first come, first served on race day. -
