DEAR 2024 FOOT LOCKER CROSS COUNTRY PARTICIPANT,
Like you, we were just officially informed today that Foot Locker will no longer be supporting
the cross-country event that they started and that bears their name. It was surprising and left us wondering what exactly to do with all of you who have been planning to take part this year. It also left us wondering what to do with our dedicated team of volunteers who are planning to host this great event this year.
Wonder no more. We have a plan and are excited to share it with you right now. First, we think it is appropriate to take a moment to thank the Foot Locker corporation for their foresight in developing this amazing program over 45 years ago. Many of you did not grow up with the multitude of post-season competition opportunities that the current class of high schoolers and coaches now enjoy. Many of you cannot imagine a world where the season ended with only the State Championships. In the pre-Foot Locker era that was exactly the case and any comparisons or discussions as to who the best in the region was or in the nation was just thata discussion. The Foot Locker corporation created an amazing series of regional meets that lead to a true National Championship. It was based on head-to-head competition and the program that they developed and financially supported over four decades was truly groundbreaking. Foot Lockers' pioneering efforts paved the way for other corporations to follow suit and has given runners and field event athletes several other post-season competition opportunities that no one envisioned prior the creation of the Foot Locker series.
Moving forward however, we want to share our plans with you to host a race this year as planned. Let me bullet point it for you right now, and look for our website to be posted next week sometime with all the other more detailed information you will need.
XC CHAMPIONSHIP RACE FOR POST-SEASON PARTICIPANTS
* Location: Mt. San Antonio College, Walnut, CA. 91789
* Date: Saturday, December 6th, 2025

* Awards: Yes
* Schedule: Plan on the schedule being roughly the same as in previous years. There may be a tweak or two.
* Registration: We will post all our online registration information next week on our website.
* Participation: Open and any and all runners.
* Course: Same great course as in previous years, the historic 5k course at Mt. SAC.
* Teams / Groups: We will offer the same group bundling of your team or group bib numbers for ease of pick up as before.

WILL THE WEATHER BE AMAZING AND THE COURSE BE CHALLENGING?
As you all know, no one can predict the weather, but if our weather history holds true to form, its going to be a great day to run and a great weekend to be in Southern California. We can also confirm that the historic and much-talked-about Mt. SAC course will challenge even the best of you and should offer you a run that you will remember.
In addition, you will be able to compare your time with all the great runners who have challenged this amazing course before you. Thats what's special about XC, you can compare your best with the best who have gone before you and with those who come after you.
WILL I BE HAPPY THAT I SIGNED UP AND TOOK PART THIS YEAR?
No one can definitively answer that question for you, of course. However, based upon the feedback we receive each year and if the smiles on our participants' faces as they exit the stadium are any indication, we believe that you will be happy that you took part. Happy and proud that you became a part of Mt. SAC history and tradition by challenging yourself and our course in 2025.
