This vibrant event marks the 6th edition of thrilling open water races, featuring a variety of distances to challenge swimmers and athletes of all levels. Participants can choose from a 0.5-mile swim (1 loop), a 1-mile swim (2 loops), and a 1.5-mile swim (3 loops). For those seeking an extra adventure, the SwimRun combines a 1-mile swim followed by a 2.2-mile run, offering a unique and exciting experience.
The day kicks off at 9 AM for the 1-mile Swim and SwimRun, followed by the 1.5-mile swim at 10 AM and the 0.5-mile swim at 11:15 AM. Located at the stunning Newark Reservoir, the start/finish area promises stunning views and a supportive atmosphere. Start/finish area is at the caged area near the top of the hill at the Newark Reservoir. GPS address to parking lot is 240 Old Paper Mill Rd., Newark, DE 19711. There are bathrooms at the parking lot at the bottom of the hill. Please make sure to use facilities as needed before walking up the hill. Additional/overflow parking is located at Timothy's, 100 Creek View Rd., Newark, DE 19711.

Check-in is available starting at 8:00AM on Saturday June 28. All racers should check in when they arrive.
NO REFUNDS and no rain date. In the event of inclement weather, entries will roll into next year's race, or you may defer to another FCR event. A registered athlete may request a deferral to next year's event if they do so at least 14 days prior to the event. A nominal fee shall apply.
There will be one nutrition/hydration table near the reservoir entrance (caged area at the top of the hill). We will have water, Gatorade, and Hammer gels at this table. Some light pre-packaged food and beverages will be available for post-race.
We will need 8-10 Volunteers for Registration, Timing, and Kayaking. Interested in VOLUNTEERING? SIGN UP HERE [http://www.frenchcreekracing.com/volunteer]!
We will follow the USAT Wetsuit rule of 78o temperature threshold. Should the water temperature exceed 78o, anyone wearing a wetsuit will not be counted in the official results. Should the water temperature exceed 84o F, no wetsuits may be worn. Water temperature is likely to be above 78o at this time of year.
