The event kicks off bright and early with the 800-meter race starting at 8 AM, followed by the 1600-meter at 8:45 AM, and wrapping up with the 2400-meter race at 9:45 AM.
Each race offers participants a chance to enjoy the camaraderie of fellow athletes while competing for custom awards in various age groups. Not only will the swim course be professionally chip-timed, but swimmers will also have the opportunity to combine events, totaling a remarkable 4,800 meters (or 3 miles)! Welcome to our second Medford SwimFest presented by French Creek Racing!
SWIMFEST EVENT FEATURES OUR 800M, 1600M, AND 2400M SWIM RACES
SWIMFEST SCHEDULE:
THURSDAY AT MIDNIGHT - ONLINE REGISTRATION FOR SWIMFEST CLOSES
SATURDAY 8AM - 800M SWIM START
SATURDAY 8:45AM - 1600M SWIM START
SATURDAY 9:45AM - 2400M SWIM START
SATURDAY 11AM - AWARDS CEREMONY
SWIM COURSE: The swim course will be an 800 meter course. Click HERE [https://ridewithgps.com/routes/53080891] for the Course Map.
800 meter race: complete one lap
1600 meter race: complete two laps
2400 meter race: complete three laps
Participants will not get out of the water in between laps. Participants will get out of the water only after their last lap of the swim and finish on land. See course map for more details.
START: The first race will be the 800 meter event. The second race is the 1600 meter swim. The third and final swim will be 2400 meters. Each race will begin as scheduled, however swimmers who have not completed their event before the next race begins will be allowed to finish and will not be pulled from the water. This will be an in water start, wave format. You can combine events! You are eligible for awards for each individual event you compete in but will only get one swag bag. All three events combined is a total of 4,800 meters (3 miles). Each race will be allowed a 10 minute warm up near the start area.
TIMING: This event will be professionally chip timed! We will be providing race day results on our race page after you finish your race. We will also provide a web link to results that you can share with your family and friends so they can follow your race on their web devices.
COURSE SUPPORT: We will have water at the finish line. We will also have food items at the finish line for volunteers and participants only.
EVENT RULES: All must wear the provided swim cap with bib # written on the cap. Wetsuits will be allowed if water temps are below 78.0 degrees. Fins are not permitted. Athletes that do not complete the course must visit race officials at the finish line to check in and return their timing chip. If you do not complete your event before the next race starts you will be allowed to finish and will not be pulled from the water.
Custom overall and age group awards will be given to the top 3 M/F in each classification - overall and 10 year age increments.

We will need approximately 10-12 volunteers (kayakers, lifeguards, and other helpers). Register Here [http://www.frenchcreekracing.com/volunteer] to VOLUNTEER, or contact erin@frenchcreekracing.com if you have any questions.
When you arrive, check in at our table, take a swim cap, and have your number marked. New Wave Swim Buoys may be worn by racers (your choice of color).
REFUND POLICY: NO REFUNDS will be issued. If requested at least 14 days in advance, we will be able to transfer your funds to a different race event. A nominal fee shall apply.
