Join us for the exhilarating Freedom Run 2025 on Friday, July 4th, in the beautiful Centennial Park, Springfield, Sangamon! This festive event celebrates Independence Day with a vibrant early morning run that kicks off at 7:30 AM from the top of Centennial Park Hill. Participants can choose from new and exciting race distances including a 10K that takes you along the scenic Sangamon Valley Trail, a 5K that has been extended through the wildlife sanctuary, and a 1-mile fun run that is perfect for everyone.

Packet pickup begins at 6:15 AM near the finish line at the trailhead of the Sangamon Valley Trail and Bunker Hill Rd, ensuring you're all set to go for the chip-timed race that finishes at the bottom of the hill. After crossing the finish line, enjoy a delightful breakfast with food and drinks as you celebrate your achievement. All registrants will receive a Freedom Run finisher T-shirt and medal, with awards for the top male and female finishers, as well as winners in each age bracket from 10 and under all the way through the 80s.
