Get ready for an exciting day of fun and learning at the Georgia Cities Week City of Brunswick Bike Rodeo on Wednesday, April 22nd, 2026! This fantastic FREE event will take place from 4 PM to 6 PM at the scenic Mary Ross Waterfront Park. Designed for children and youth ages 3-12, the bike rodeo offers a wonderful opportunity for young riders to develop essential bike safety skills and on-bike handling techniques.
Participants of all ages and skill levels are welcome, and it’s recommended to bring your own bike. If you don’t have one, don’t worry! A small bike library will be available on-site for borrowing on a first-come, first-served basis. Helmets are a must, and for those who need them, free helmets will be provided along with valuable safety education, thanks to the generous support from the GA Governors Office of Highway Safety. Join us for a day of educational fun, community spirit, and unforgettable memories as we promote safe cycling in Brunswick!

Join us for a FREE bike rodeo after school on Wednesday, April 22nd from 4-6 PM!
Bike Walk Golden Isles, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, is partnering up with the City of Brunswick for a bike rodeo at Mary Ross Waterfront Park as part of Georgia Cities Week.
Bike rodeos teach essential bike safety and on-bike handling skills using proven strategies to increase bicyclist confidence, safety, and ability. BWGI and our partner organizations will be onsite leading this activity with trained LCIs and volunteer staff. The curriculum is designed for children and youth ages 3-12 -- _All ages and skill levels are welcome_!
BWGI recommends riders bring their own bike for this event, but there will be a small bike library on site for riders to borrow one as needed on a first come, first served basis.
Helmets are REQUIRED for this event.
BWGI will provide FREE bike helmets with helmet safety education to any rider who lacks this essential safety equipment thanks to funding from the GA Governors Office of Highway Safety (GOHS).
Thanks to Monkeywrench Bicycles for providing technical support with their mobile bike fixit station, Go Georgia for expertise and staffing assistance, First United Methodist Church Pedal Project for the bike library, and the City of Brunswick for their ongoing support of, and partnerships with, BWGI.
